BUT, the edging that runs along the zipper is very thick as stiff, and unless the baby is constantly lying perfectly flat, easily bunches up when you are holding them or they are moving, and once again, seems much more uncomfortable than traditional front-zip swaddles. I also like the ability to unzip from under the arm on one side to open it up all the way, or at the bottom, for diaper changes. BUT, this adds extra bulk right around baby’s face, and when adding a bib during feedings, it bunched up and usually looked uncomfortable. I like the idea of the snaps at the shoulders and the ability to adjust the armhole size. We never had a need to try a weighted one, but this time around, sleep was a lot more difficult, so I thought we’d give it a shot. I opted for the sleep sack over the newborn swaddle, as he hates being swaddled, just like his brother did, and my first always did well in sleep sacks. I was desperate for a solution to helping my newborn sleep for longer stretches through the night, and tried these among many other things. Long story short - there are cheaper options on the market that I would say do the job just as well (at least for my baby). Then all of us first time moms feel like we're missing something special and buy it, then by the time you realize it's all just marketing crap and it's the same thing you could get for 1/3 of the price, it's too late to get your money back. For some reason all these companies try to market their items as some kind of God-send for babies and charge so much for them. I don't think his sleep quality was improved much if any, so while I like the weight and comfort of this sack, I just can't justify the cost. When this one no longer fits, I'll probably just go back to my old sleep sack that was like $10-12. So when this is in the laundry, I use my old sleep sack as a back up, which breaks the consistency of the "egg weight" and probably makes it even less effective. Especially when he's already outgrown the one we just got like a month or two ago. But for this price, I can't justify buying a back up. I like to have two of things like this so if we have a spill or diaper leak I can wash one while we use the other. I expected to at least get to 12 months or so before having to size up. I ordered the 6-15 month size and he's already almost out of leg room. I like the feel of the fabric, the zipper access and the weight of the fabric (not too heavy or too light). I'm not 100% sure that it vastly improved my babies sleep, but I'll go with it.
